Jerusalem, Dec 7 (efe-epa).- The Israeli army has deployed a series of battalions in the West Bank on Thursday after the President of the United States recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The battalions, accompanied by intelligence and territorial defense combat units, were deployed as the Army prepared for possible developments in events after Donald Trump's announcement on Wednesday, said the army in a statement.
Trump's decision to name Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move the US embassy there prompted a wave of protests throughout Palestine and neighboring countries.
