Jerusalem, May 16 (efe-epa).- The Palestinian Authority on Wednesday summoned the ambassadors of four European countries - Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania - for consultations, official sources in Ramallah told EFE.

The step was taken after those countries' ambassadors took part in Israeli celebrations at the US embassy's inauguration on Monday, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry's assistant minister for European affairs, Amal Jadou, said.

Jadou stressed that Palestine continues to hold its relations with all members of the European Union in high regard.

PA authorities are to discuss each country's views regarding Palestine with the summoned ambassadors, as well as each country's degree of commitment to EU positions in support of several United Nations resolutions confirming that Jerusalem has been occupied by Israel since 1967.

Jadou described the US embassy's transfer as a hostile act against the people of Palestine as well as a violation of international law, in particular resolution 478 of the UN Security Council.

On Tuesday, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas also recalled the Palestinian envoy to Washington, Husam Zomlot.

On Monday, the Israeli army killed over 60 Palestinians along the Gaza-Israel boundary who were protesting the US embassy's inauguration, and injured 3,188.

At least 112 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and 12,000 injured in ongoing mass demonstrations in Gaza since Mar. 30.
