Tottenham's Mousa Dembele to be sidelined until January due to ankle injury

London, Nov 8 (efe-epa).- Tottenham Hotspur's and Belgian midfielder Mousa Dembele will be sidelined till next January due to the ankle injury he suffered during Hotspur's recent Premier League match, the club said Thursday.
Dembele, the winner of the 2018 FIFA World Cup bronze medal with Belgium, had to leave the field with just seven minutes into Wolverhampton-Tottenham Premier League duel last Saturday due to the ankle injury.
"Scans have confirmed ligament damage to right ankle, and Dembele is unlikely to be available until the New Year," the Spurs announced on the English side's official Twitter account.
Dembele joins the Spurs other injured players, fellow Belgian and Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen and English left-back Danny Rose, on the Tottenham sidelines Saturday in the Spurs' next Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, the Spurs' English defender Eric Dier and Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama returned to team practices and will be available to their Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino for the upcoming matches.
