Liverpool remains in 2nd place, Chelsea loses in Wolverhampton

International Sports Desk, Dec 5 (efe-epa).- With a 3-1 win at Burnley, Liverpool added three points on Wednesday to keep them in second place, two points behind leaders Manchester City, while Chelsea lost their third place after a 2-1 defeat at Wolverhampton.

German coach Juergen Klopp's Liverpool team was behind after Jack Cork scored for Burnley in the 54th minute, but the picked up their game with goals from James Milner and Brazilian Roberto Firmino in the 62nd and 69th minutes respectively.

The Swiss Xherdan Shaqiri, in the first minute of stoppage time, scored the third goal for his team, which remain in second place with 39 points.

The third position, occupied by Chelsea, passed to Tottenham, who had a 3-0 win over Southampton and thus overtook a team that was unable to score sufficiently in Wolverhampton, where Chelsea took the lead with a goal by Ruben Loftus-Cheek but then fell behind with goals from Mexico's Raul Jimenez and Portugal's Diogo Jota, for a final score of 2-1.

Everton-Newcastle and Fulham-Leicester City both drew 1-1 in the remaining matches of matchday 15 on Wednesday.
