Beijing, Jan 23 (EFE).- Chinese tech firm Xiaomi announced Wednesday that it has created the world's first double-folding smartphone.
The company's president and co-founder Lin Bin posted a video of the device, that can be used as a mobile phone as well as a tablet, on his Weibo (Chinese Twitter) account.
Lin claimed it was the world's first double-folding smartphone and if it was a hit with users, they would look at manufacturing it on a large scale.
Lin also asked for feedback from his followers, especially to choose a name for the product and said they were mulling two names, Dual Flex or MIX Flex.
Chinese companies have been vying with each other to come up with innovations in the mobile phone sector.
A lesser known mobile phone manufacturer, Royole, had launched the world's first foldable smartphone FlexPai on Jan. 9 during the CES tech fair in Las Vegas, United States.
Huawei had also announced that it will launch its first 5G smartphone in June.
