London, May 12 (efe-epa).- The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, celebrated her first Mother's Day posting a poem on the official Instagram account she shares with Prince Harry having given birth to their son one week ago.

The couple celebrated by posting a message alongside a photo of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor's tiny feet.

"Paying tribute to all mothers today - past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered," the Duke and Duchess posted. "We honor and celebrate each and every one of you."

"Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe," the caption continued.

"This is the first Mother’s Day for The Duchess of Sussex," the royals added.

The caption also quoted Nayyirah Waheed's "Lands":

"My mother was my first country;

The first place I ever lived."

The picture did not reveal the baby's face, but showed Meghan's hands cradling Archie's feet.

The photo featured a background of tiny blue forget-me-nots, the late Princess Diana's favorite flowers.

The newborn was presented to the world in front of cameras on Thursday at St George's Hall in Windsor Castle.

Weighing 3.3 kilograms, the "little thing is absolutely to-die-for," Prince Harry said Monday when he announced the birth.

The newborn, believed to be the first mixed-race child born into the royal family, is the seventh in line to the British throne after his father Harry, his three cousins George, Charlotte and Louis, his uncle Prince William and his grandfather Prince Charles.

He is also the eighth great-grandchild of the Queen, who turned 93 last month and has spent 67 years on the throne. EFE-EPA
